Same tool also spots the pay me campsites of which there are several. The Appalachian trail goes through the area, so that accounts for several of the camping spots, the ones with no roads noted near by. The area seems pretty empty, other than that.
Dismal Creek is the name of the nearby creek, it has a set of falls on it called Dismal Falls.
This is the real name of the campground -- Walnut Flats Campground in Jefferson National Forest

we can do better for both mountains and for scenery on a trip starting at Kickstand and roaming off to where-ever we want in Georgia, etc.
Lastly, to inform you very completely, here are two Goldwings running the DRAGON's BACK at speed. The Cherohala is a more thrilling sweeper road and
we know many more challenging roads already .... That meandering road around the lake area near Robbinsville comes to mind as a "superior" little road.
