Those bars look like they fit you very well!
Where will the pegs/boards go? Forward for comfort, or mid-bike, or under you?

Thanks for looking.  And thanks to all that take the time to comment.

Pegs will probably go forward.  I'm know I'm ditching the stock pegs.  Not sure just yet how I'll configure the peg brackets but you gotta think they'll have some curves  Wink  I'll be thinking about the design of them while I move on to the tanks.

Good to see a pic of you sitting on the bike.  It really gives us a feel for the scale and flow of the design elements.  It's lookin' so flippin' cool.  I really like the lines and the choices you made in wheel size, wheel base etc.  Anxious for more!

That bike is going to be breathtaking. I like the handlebars, but I'd like to see a small C brace between the bars...kind of the same style as the upper rear brace in the swingarm.

For looks or for strength?  I'm still not sure about a speedometer but a cross brace would make a good place to mount it.

How much does your bike in its current configuration weigh ?
If you have not weighed it yet, can you pop a scale under the front and rear wheel for an approximate weight ?

Best data I have in puts it around 265 lbs as it sits in the latest pictures but that's a sum of estimates and a few small flat-out guesses.  I'll try to get it on a scale tonite, I'm curious too.

I confirmed with scale that it currently stands at 265 pounds as close as I can tell with balancing the bike and reading the scale.

Need to add battery, headlight, wiring harness, brake cable and lines, mirrors, foot pegs and gas tanks.  I expect to be in the 300 range when done?

Thanks again for the interest, suggestions and comments!

Next up is the tank buck or at least the tank profile.  I will try to keep it narrow, not more than 10-10.5 inches at the widest.  I expect this will give me about 1.25 gal per side at a minimum, if I can get 1.5 per side that would be better.  I need to get the profile fit so I can put the frame back on the rotisserie and finish weld all the bits and bobs that are only tacked right now.

Nice tank shape. Fits the theme.

Very impressive project altogether. Thanks for sharing.

Where will the fuel petcock(s) go? I would guess towards the rear. You'll loose some usable capacity in the front due to the constant radius.

Good question.  I was thinking rear too.  I am thinking a single petcock on each and run off one at a time.  A forward location would push fuel forward when the engine sputters but also might starve it on acceleration.  That's why I'm thinking rear location is the best.

Looking great.  The only thing I'm seeing so far is that the seat looks a like it might be a little wide, but maybe the finished tanks will balance it out.  Still, a long skinny bike with tall skinny wheels...you know?

I would probably spend a little extra time with some foam insulation board experimenting with the width of the tanks until you are happy with the look.  To me, you're at the point where you can easily ruin it.  That said, you've nailed everything else so I'm sure you'll make it look great.

Here is a picture I took of an old board tracker at Cleveland Fuel this summer.  (Not that you would want a seat that small.)

Looking at your seat, I would maybe like to see the rear support arched down.  That would give it a more authentic look while keeping it at a reasonable size for comfort.

Also, here is another picture I took.  I thought the way they tensioned the chain was pretty cool.  Slide the idler pulley as needed using the angle built into the frame...done! Very simple and very cool.
