Is this measles outbreak created by illegal immigration?

How would we know? We can't trust the mainstream media to research and publish the data. It would go against their narrative so they'd censor it. (look what how they handled Climategate) If Fox did the work, the liberal media and entertainment culture would trash it 24/7.

So how do we know? Does the CDC or some other organization publish that data?

Well they do. Somewhat.

They easily point out Orthodox Jews and Amish. Would they say Central and South America immigrants if that were the case?

https://www.cdc.gov/measles/cases-outbreaks.html

Interesting line from the report.

Eighty-two people brought measles to the U.S. from other countries in 2018. This is the greatest number of imported cases since measles was eliminated from the U.S. in 2000.

They came in on a flight so I doubt that it was illegal entry.

Are we saying it's unreasonable to make the assumption that illegal immigrants are more likely to carry measles and other diseases ? Seems like not making that assumption is unreasonable.

Which is my point, its taboo to even bring that up. How can we expect the MSM to report accurately on the topic?

No, it's not unreasonable, but it's fear mongering.  Just as many cases could be tied back to the anti-vaxxing crowd. Why not call attention to that?

Further, there are US citizens that travel abroad that can also be carriers.  Why not call attention to that?

Why not just say that there's a spike in measles this year due to a myriad of factors?

I know why - it's easy to blame the "terrible immigrants".  Conservative politics 101.

I'm not - I'm condoning it.

Do we have an increase in those who did not get vaccinated or do we have an increase in those with measles infecting those who didn't get vaccinated?

Would that be similar to a, Nut Case,
getting a gun,
(AFTER a very, anti-gun State cleared him),
then the Anti-Gun, Gun-Banners, saying things like.
'Ban Guns it will Stop Crime'.

I don't know if its the chicken or the egg. I do know we can remove one of them from the equation so why shouldn't we do that to eliminate the risk?

By the way, this is the same argument used against those who don't believe climate change poses the risk we're being told. The argument goes that even if it's not a significant risk, we should take steps to reduced greenhouse gases because, as a side benefit, it reduces pollution so regardless, there is a benefit. A variation of Pascal's Gamble I suppose.

For me the question is how many children are we willing to accept as fatal outcomes before we are willing to say a vaccine is required.

In the US measles related complications are typical:

Hospitalization is 1 in 4 cases.
Swelling of the brain 1 in 1000 cases.
 Death 1 in 1000 cases.

https://www.cdc.gov/measles/about/complications.html

There was one documented measles death in 2015 in the US.

Is that dead child enough to say "we should have prevented that particular death from that particular disease"?  This statement is not intended to guarantee the child, who was otherwise healthy, would have lived, it just means they would not have died specifically from measles.

Most people I have talked to don't think measles can kill.

Of the people I know who don't think measles vaccination is a big deal have not had or known anyone that has had a child die from them.

So since only 1 in 1000 unvaccinated children die from measles is that a low enough mortality rate to consider a vaccination unnecessary?
