Would that be similar to a, Nut Case,
getting a gun,
(AFTER a very, anti-gun State cleared him),
then the Anti-Gun, Gun-Banners, saying things like.
'Ban Guns it will Stop Crime'.

tt, say hypocrite !

No.  In fact, it's nothing like that.

Your statement is stupid.

 No.  This is not similar.

There is no vaccination for violence.  You can in it's entirety eliminate measles from a control group as long as you use a vaccine within that control group as it takes two or more unvaccinated people to spread the disease.

You can not come close to doing that with guns or gun violence, or violence in general.

What I want to know is what is the acceptable mortality level for a 100% preventable disease?

I don't know if its the chicken or the egg. I do know we can remove one of them from the equation so why shouldn't we do that to eliminate the risk?

You're going to keep people from traveling overseas?  Really?

By the way, this is the same argument used against those who don't believe climate change poses the risk we're being told. The argument goes that even if it's not a significant risk, we should take steps to reduced greenhouse gases because, as a side benefit, it reduces pollution so regardless, there is a benefit. A variation of Pascal's Gamble I suppose.

No, in fact, it's not the same at all - at least not how you posit.

Here's how they're actually similar:

Climate change - that is to say, humans doing harm to the environment - is the result of negligence.  The measles outbreak that is occurring is the direct result of people not vaccinating their kids (negligence).

To say that we should think about banning travel/immigration because of some parents' negligence would only allow more parents to be negligent.

There is no "if" in either climate change or measles.  The direct results speak for themselves.

That post is a direct response to the hypocrite response of the tt, who blame the Conservatives for, "but it's fear mongering".

It is about the tt saying:
"classic conservative talking point!
FEAR THE MEASLES - FEAR THE IMMIGRANTS!!!"

and, "it's easy to blame the "terrible immigrants.
Conservative politics 101"
,
blaming Conservatives for, "fear mongering".

When the UL Socialist Gun Haters do it all the time.

Again tt can you say: hypocrite !

I find it funny that you accuse others of being "snowflakes", yet you react like a snowflake all the time.  You point your finger and say "but...but... TT said this..."  LOL

Speaking of you referencing me - are you addressing me directly - or are you calling me an "it"?

Get your story straight mn.

I'm either a person or a thing.

However, maybe it's because your really that dumb and don't know how to structure a sentence.

So, which is it?  Are you that stupid, or are you calling me an "it"?

Here's how they're actually similar:

Climate change - that is to say, humans doing harm to the environment - is the result of negligence. No, it is not negligence. Fossil fuels have civilized the entire planet and made life tolerable for billions. it is not negligent to live.

The measles outbreak that is occurring is the direct result of people not vaccinating their kids (negligence).
Not necessarily. You don't know that. You say that for political reasons. My question, which will not be researched or if it is and found true, will not published is: have those who don't vaccinate contracted measles at the same given rate over a period of time or has it increased? If so, can that increase be traced to illegal immigrants.

To say that we should think about banning travel/immigration because of some parents' negligence would only allow more parents to be negligent.
I never said travel. You said that as lie to this position look unreasonable. I said illegal immigration.

There is no "if" in either climate change or measles.  The direct results speak for themselves.

Well mark, then you are ignorant to where the virus comes from.

How did the measles outbreak in Washington happen?
Measles outbreaks in the US typically start when a traveler picks up the virus in another country where measles is still common and brings it back to an unvaccinated community here. We know “patient zero” in the Washington outbreak was visiting from outside the country, and came into contact with unvaccinated children in Clark County. Those children then visited public places including health care facilities, schools, and churches, as well as Ikea and Dollar Tree — spreading measles to others.

So did whaling... how's that going?

Whale oil was the best option at the time. it was replaced by market demand, not hoax science forced down our throats.

If more refuse to vaccinate, more will get measles... why is that so hard to understand?  Immigrants don't enter into it.
How do you know immigrants don't enter into it? We know for a fact healthcare if far less common in the nations they are coming from. We know vaccinations are far less common. Why wouldn't it follow that illegal immigrants who setting in communities are infecting non-vaccinated Americans in numbers greater than we've seen historically.

LOL - yeah mark, all these scientists are in on a huge "hoax"...

Seriously?  You can't be that ignorant.  (well, you support trump, so I guess you could be...)

How do you know immigrants don't enter into it?

Case in point - patient zero in Washington state.  Contracted it from a legal visitor.

We know for a fact healthcare if far less common in the nations they are coming from. We know vaccinations are far less common. Why wouldn't it follow that illegal immigrants who setting in communities are infecting non-vaccinated Americans in numbers greater than we've seen historically.

Well mark - if you refuse reason, then just look at the stats.

There’s  been a 76 percent decline in the number of southwest border apprehensions between the peak in 2000 and 2018. (PEW Research)

So, the only outstanding factor is vaccination.  Less are being vaccinated, more are contracting.

1+1 will always equal 2.

"If more refuse to vaccinate, more will get measles... why is that so hard to understand?  Immigrants don't enter into it."

 This is statistically false.

Volumes of in-depth research is available regarding the spread of disease in "undeveloped" nations in respect to introduction to "developed" nations.  Why do you think mainstream media can capitalize content on things like "swine flu, cholera, or ebola"?  Why does the WHO focus on vaccination in third world areas and prioritize based off of patterns of international travel?

The logic that less vaccination = more cases of preventable disease is universal.

That logic, which is proven accurate, and has been for hundreds of years, does not discriminate by geographical borders and governmental claims of such borders.

Introduction of disease is simply introduction.  So if immigrants come into any area and are not vaccinated the probability of disease increases because immigrants are part of the source of introduction.

Fair points Eegore.  However, the question posed is regarding this recent measles outbreak.  Washington state reported a large number of outbreaks that had nothing to do with immigrants and more to do with kids exposed to the virus that weren't vaccinated.

I'm not saying that it has no effect - of course it would.  But equally "dangerous" are those visiting legally.
