Cam chain stretches
Tensioner extends
Eventually comes apart
Spring falls into gears
Usually fatal
Wouldn't start it until I looked in there.
A modified tensioner available from Verslagen solves the problem.

Great minds think alike. Today I got about half way through the tear down. The font end and motor mount bolts and into the man cave (basement with a manual bulk head door, and 5'6 ceiling! Lol!) Gonna go Through everything. A bunch of mods! Wish me luck lol!

What happens if u take out the large nut on the vary top of the fork tube? It's been bout 20 years but I seem to remember a large sping rite under it and no way to stop it from the jack in the box effect. Gotta get the ront end off so it fit into the man cave.

As long as you have the frame supported the spring only come out 1/2 inch - if you don't, the forks will drop and the spring will come out equal to the fall of the frame....as the spring is holding the bike up!

He's no longer on the forum.

It would be best to link the photo here then you can ask what you will.
