Tonight's project:  She now has two ears...I got this master cylinder bracket off ebay and used my stock handle bar bracket for the other side...works.  Had to grind a bit on the stock part to make it fit...not perfect but works...I like it.  She is no longer a one eared dog...

I have no idea how functional they are, but those mirrors look super-cool. They give the bike a more '70's vintage feel which fits with the tank perfectly.

Hey BraveTeacher, sorry but I kinda lost track of your build for a while. Now that I've had time to check out the last few pages of your blog/build I'd like to say congrats on building a way cool bike   Cool

Also thanks for all the step by step info which is always fun for me to read, the bike is sweet, the beard looked good and it was fun to follow (even though I'm a bit slow catching up LOL)

Thanks...I ride her almost every single day 6 miles round trip to work and back.  I have put 800 miles on her with no problems with all the modifications.  O by the way, Beard Gone!

The beard video made for quite a few chuckles to start this morning with.   Grin

Great beard video! LOL!

I also love your bike! If you don't mind me asking - what kind of tank did you use? Did you have to modify it to fit the bike?
Thanks!

What does the rest of the break in period sticker say? It's a very well executed conversion and it's good to know you were able to use the stock mirrors in a way that suited you.

The tank came from Ebay...1960 Benelli that has original paint and never had gas in it untill I filled her up the first time.

http://suzuki-s40-ratbrat.weebly.com/page-5.html

Page 6 of my web page shows how I mounted it...no modifications to the tank...obviously modifications to the frame.  I welded a nut to the frame and used a piece of pipe as a spacer to keep the tank off the frame…also welded a rigged clip that attaches to a factory clip on the back of the tank.  Works...have 900 miles on the bike so far.
