clutch springs? (Read 149 times)

ebonysresearch Junior Member Offline SuzukiSavage.com Rocks! Posts: 93	clutch springs? 11/16/10 at 20:11:24 I am pretty sure that when I lay into my bike hard that my clutches are slipping. Anyone know of some heavier clutch springs I can put in there?

Reply #1 - 11/16/10 at 20:13:23 Ebc springs are a little stiffer, or you can put washers under them. You'll have to measure and fit them as there's a recess. But also check your clutch arm against the marks on the case. If you're out of spec, could cause the cam to break.

Oil right now I have HD 10w 40. was going to switch to syn 3 but didn't know how that would affect my clutch plates and gaskets so I stuck with some petroleum based. The Clutch arm is not bottomed out. I just have it where I can slightly wiggle the arm. but still adjusted where It will engage and disengage the clutch. Problem is when I really lay into it the motor winds up and the bike doesn't go...as fast. So I have to back off the throttle and roll into it appropriately.

I did combine 2 lower ends when I built my engine so it is very possible that I have the wrong length rod in there. I am collecting what I need so when I cant ride this winter I can tear my engine back down and check the valve springs and such.
