Down the road there comes a soldier,
seventeen, or maybe older.
Beneath his grimey uniform, his wounded body tired and worn.
Furrowed brow, sunken eyes, beleaguered soul that pondered lies,
That brought him here to shed his blood.
Mid'st agony and gore and mud.

His innocence lay scattered here, across these fields where freedom dear,
He'd purchased now with mortal sin, upon a politicians' whim.

I agree 100%. I feel honored to have served at that time and still feel it was right for my country. I was hurt more by the people spitting on soldiers when I returned then by the NVA fighting for what they believed in. Now I'm guilt free and walk proudly.
