When talking about the ForkBrace and wobbles. When at a high rate of speed (usually 60 and above) and I am in a lean I get the wobbles pretty bad. Am I just hitting the cornering limitations of the bike or is that something that the ForkBrace and progressive shocks would help?
The Progressive shocks reduced the wallowing for me in hard corners, especially bumpy ones. With the stock shocks the back end would start bobbing up & down changing the fork angle, so I'd start weaving around. I'm riding a lot harder now with the Progressives & I see a need for the fork brace now, which I hope to get soon.

What is the range on the Volutia? Those bikes were carbed so the fuel economy is not quite as good as the C50.
I suspect the smaller tank of the Savage will require more frequent stops, than the 800, I know stock the seat will.
Might consider lead weights in the bars.

I feel at 70MPH becomes too big of a problem after 4-5 hours? Keep in mind that to my hubby 500 miles in one day is a warm-up for the next days thrash!

This is a great topic! Keep those opinions coming. I have a 2006 S40 and am thinking about doing a long run in 2007 with this group:

. Just need to know how my Savage will hold up or if I'll need to find a second bike for this trip...

Hi, newbie here! Let me tell you, on the past two weekends down here in PR, we celebrated, two bike shows about 150 to 200 miles away from where I live. (Puerto Rico Bike Fest & Caribbean Bike Week)I just went to the farest, last sunday. The round trip around the island, took about 300 miles on the odometer! Of course we made several pit stops, but the S40 took the beatingof almost 14 hours of riding. The next day off to work like nothing happended.
