This would be it!

... and if I had a spare $17k (AUD)

I know this is a bit off-topic for the Savage site. But I also know that many people on here appreciate a good 'standard'.

And I really appreciate this one!

Oh, and that 'rat tail' hanging off the back would be the first mod I'd make. Here in Aus, up until last year, the vehicle code demanded 'something' hanging on the back to at least some ridiculous angle in relation to the rear axle.

The law has since changed to (I think) the 45 degree mark. That's where the licence plate would sit. The extra bit would hold the rear reflector. That can be ditched pretty readily (assuming you don't come a across a particularly pedantic traffic cop). Same for the orange side reflectors on the forks.

I don't ride at night, so safety isn't an issue.

I like the bike - but not the "plank" looking seat.

I think the seat should be made with a bit more style.

I just bought this new 2019 Triumph Street Twin 900 last month.  It's an entry level bike in their classic line.  I like it.  My first Triumph -- always wanted one starting back in the late 1960s, but I couldn't afford one back then.

One of the things Triumph have done really well on their modern bikes is to keep the radiator discrete. They've managed to maintain the look of classic air-cooled bikes.

Some radiators on other modern cruisers really dominate the look of the bike and look out of place.

Hey thanks.  It was quite inexpensive compared to the rest of the "classic" line -- and it was a 2019 they were trying to get rid of.  I liked its clean look.  It only weighs about 460 wet (curb weight).

My son went through a "cafe" phase in college and banged out this Yamaha triple. In the process he liberated some 2" walnut I'd milled to make his "seat". Now Dave, that's a real plank.

I'm not a big fan of the modern Triumph.  I think Kawasaki did a much better job with their modern "Triumph", the W650.  Unfortunately they only sold it here for 2 years.  I guess there wasn't enough love here in the US.  I don't get it.  Sad Sad

Hmm I agree on the Kawasaki looks. Ive never liked the apperance of the Triumph engine, it just looks heavy and clumsy to me. That said Im sure they are great bikes.  Smiley
