It might be easier if we were to meet on a Sunday and head back out the following Saturday. That would allow the weekends as travel days and 5 full days of riding in Arkansas.

The September 2nd through September 9th that MM is proposing would put us there over the Labor Day weekend.  I am not sure if that would be a desirable time to be there......or to be traveling to Arkansas.  It could be awfully crowded then, and there are a limited number of places to stay and eat in Jasper.

Last year Deb and I were there Sept 14th - 22nd.  The roads and campgrounds were nearly empty as the kids were back in school during the week - we did have some families come to the campground on the weekend.  We had no problem getting in the restaurant, the roads were low on traffic, and the weather was still really warm.

I would suggest we pick a week/weekend after Labor day....something nearer the end of September - or maybe even into October.  (The Barber Vintage Festival is October 9-11......I plan on going to that).

I forgot all about Labor Day (7 Sept) .  

25-27 Sept. I have a local event I'd like to attend , but not as much as a Savage outing .    
The 13th works for me .  

Jasper Ar. is only a long day ride from Lynchburg Tn. (535 miles)



I'm with you fellers , up until sometime (???) in Oct. when my young Air Man from Korea comes home for a month of leave !  

OK.....I will start planning for Sept. 13th through the 18/19th or something similar.  Last year Deb and I went at a peaceful pace and made the trip there and back 2 days each......hauling the camper slows us down a bit.

I wouldn't mind getting there a day or two early so I can remember the good roads and not get too lost while playing tour guide!

Assuming Versy is ok with the week of the 13th, I will start planning also. I told my brother-in-law Steve that we were starting to plan this trip and he said to count him in. Hopefully he will be ok with this week also.

Last year we traveled to/from Arkansas during the week.  There was surprising little traffic by doing so, and we had no trouble getting a campground spot when we wanted to stop for the night.

The riding on the weekend days did show an increase in traffic over the weekdays - however Arkansas is not crowded and the traffic is much lighter than what we have experienced in TN/NC/GA.

The Covid19 rate in KY is pretty low as our Governor has been extremely strict and is being pretty brutal in his policies.  Arkansas is doing pretty well, and the area we are going is very rural - likely Jasper is not going to be a hot spot.  Since we don't hang around in bars, night clubs, Casino's.......I think we are going to be at a pretty low exposure rate.
