I'm out of wood for the stove in my garage. About 90% of the trees near me are pine. I know it's not the best choice , but if cut and aged, will it provide good heat with few problems ?  I thought winter was a thing of the past.

Pine has a somewhat low heat value per pound.......but in some areas it is the only thing available.  It can cause issues with creosote if burned before it is well seasoned - this can be made worse if you turn the damper down and create a low temperature smolder with the pine.

Last night it was 48 - the coldest night so far here in KY - but Saturday night is supposed to be down at 37!

Yep, we frosted over a couple times this week already....30 this morning, yesterday was 33 and had sleet that stayed on the ground for a few hours in areas that ad the most active showers....

I have 1 1/2 cord stacked, its 90% dry, mostly alder, native maple and fir....
One more cord to go. I have propane upstairs, and baseboard (220v) in the wall in each room as well.....

But I still like to snuggle best  Grin
