Barber Vintage Festival, Birmingham, AL

Last year Stewmills, his brother Bailey and I went to Barber on Saturday and had a great time.......it was really hot.

This year I am riding down with a local friend on Thursday, and I will be at the Vintage Festival Friday, Saturday and part of Sunday.  Stewmills and his brother Bailey and 1 other friend will be coming up on Saturday.

Anybody else going?

Current forecast is 89F daytime and 69F night. It will be a warm day, but hopefully not quite as sweltering hot as it was last year.  I am bringing my wide brim hat and my camelback so I can have 'warm' water in between the $3 ice cold waters.

Those are our code names. We are really secret Russian operatives sent to steal motorcycle secrets from the masterminds in north Alabama. Our real names are Khrizantema and Dazdraperma.

Dave, I will be there Saturday to check things out on my way up to see Mo. I sent you a e-mail with my mobile number, give me a text so I have your number to connect this weekend. See ya there!

(I am guessing there will be a LOT of Harleys)

Because it is the vintage festival, there are of course the Harley's but not as bad as one might think. It is a pretty diverse group of bikes. You could roll up on some old smoking piece of junk and pretty much just blend right in...there are old 2 cycle dirt bikes smoking and zooming around, etc.

My suggestion is to buy tickets in advance online, and go to will call at the hotel across the street to get them. That way you just ride straight in through the "already have tickets" line and don't have to sit in the line on a hot bike ona  hot day on hot asphalt.

Stew ( Khrizantema)......maybe you could strap one of those white faux YETI coolers to your bike this year.
