Messing around with the new 18" rear wheel.  Gonna be much better than the 15"

What is the width of the 18" rear wheel that you have?

If it is from an older bike and is a narrow width......like the 2.15" that was used on the older bikes - you will have to stick to the tires sizes like the 4.00 - 18 that have tall sidewalls and were made to work with the narrow rims.  Modern tires are made to work with much wider rims, and if you try and squeeze the modern tires o the narrow rims you will cause the tire cross section to be altered, and you will be riding on a very narrow strip of tread.....and a lot of tread will be folded over to the sidewall and you won't be able to use it.

The following table shows generically what tire widths work with the rim width.  Be sure to check the specific tire you want to use for the approved rim widths.

You will probably find that the 4.00 - 18 is also has the largest tread diameter of any tire you can find that will fit on your rim......for the Avon AM26 Roadrider the tread diameter is 26.4".

A little over 3 weeks. We called at 3 weeks to nudge.  Jes a really nice guy, maybe a little backlogged though.

I'd give it another week and give them a call.
