Nice job on the inner fender. What did you start with?

I have a preston petty off road plastic fender.   I cut it in half, the cut side toward the swing arm.   I painted it satin black before the install.  Its normally grey.   Its mounted to the two battery box back bolts only.

You are welcome to have the other half.  I have no use for it.

It will be interesting to see if the paint stays on the Preston Petty.....I remember seeing lots of them with peeling paint back in the day.  The plastic always seemed kind of waxy to the touch.

Maybe the truck bed coatings will hold up better if the paint doesn't hold up.

A L M O S T  made it....just ran out of time!!!!!!!

Pulling the bike off of the lift and taking it home today.  I'll be out commission, and won't be able to work on anything for a few months.

Status:   Changed the oil and fired it up.  Runs perfectly.  All lighting, cables and controls work as they should.

What is NOT done:   sidecover mounting and rear tail light installation (still waiting   Sad  )

Sad part?  I don't think I'll get a chance to even ride it until Aug. or Sept time frame.

Just throwing this out there.....anyone want to buy it?????

couldn't resist;  went for a ride when I got home today!  just a short around the block...or two....

Observations:
1)  I'm old;  I need a softer seat
2)  I'm old and fat;  The bike is smaller than I thought it would be.
3)  I'm old.....but not deaf;  The friggin thing is LOUD!
4)  Rides nice and flat!  smooth....ride and power delivery.
5)   Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

When you are healthy again....we can fix that muffler with a table leg and/or a freeze plug!

Funny coincidence is that I just couldn't resist riding mine tonight for the first time this year....even without a seat. (The seat is at Ronnie Price getting new padding and a seat cover to fix that hard seat issue).  I taped some foam padding onto the seat mount.  I only went for a couple of miles - but it was nice to be on the bike again after 6 months off it! My Sparto light came in, so I'm going to mount it.  I'm not thrilled with the look, but it will have to do for now.

If I keep it, I'm going to replace the seat with something longer, so I can slide back another 3-4 inches.  It is a bit cramped.  I'm 5'10 (was 5 11   Sad   )

It's so true Lancer. I was 6 foot and half an inch my entire adult life. Now over 50 I only show 6 foot even. Somewhere along the way I lost 1/2". I didn't feel it go, but go it did.

The cafe bike is a tight fit. I've been riding sport bikes for 30 years and this is about the most folded-up position I've ever ridden. If you've ever ridden a Ducati, you'd feel right at home.

I so want to ride one of these and see for myself what they're like
in my more ambitious moods I keep thinking 'CS2' which isn't that different from the CS 1 imo
and sometimes I even think 'cs1'

You loose height in:  feet going flat, disc compression and posture.  Life's unfair sometimes.  but its better than the alternative!    lol

little cramped.  If I could slide back 4 inches, it would make a world of difference.  It might improve the looks too, since the seat hump is actually ahead of peak of the rear wheel anyway.

I second this. My ryca cramped seating position is extremely similar to my old 748 ducati.

Traditionally, the cafe tail is supposed to end at the rear axle, so the ryca kit got the look spot on. In terms of comfort, I would love an extra 2-3 inches of seat space, or move the rearsets further back. One of the two.

I'm 5-9 and feel cramped, at 6 foot or more the cs1 has to be unpleasant at best.
