WA native here who got smart and moved away.
Used to ride mine to work all the time, from Buckley to Auburn, Tukwila or Fife. As long as you steer clear of T-46, Harbor Island and West Marginal Way, you couldn't have picked much better for Seattle use. Watch out for the container haulers, they really can't see you...
Lot's of decent rides in your area. If you like socializing, Taco Tuesdays and/or Taco Thursdays at Alki, Royal Bear in Pacific, Yella Beak in Enumclaw or the City Hall Saloon in Cumberland (between Enumclaw and Black Diamond) are fun. The road to the Carbon River entrance to Mt Rainier is a blast, watch out for ELK and BEARS at Wilkeson and Carbonado. Leavenworth by motorcycle is a treat, go I-90 and US-97 for one leg, US-2 for the other. The Highland Games in Graham and Enumclaw are nice day trips. So is the Octoberfest in Enumclaw.
Our friend who helps on our farm is Wallingford-Ballard born and raised. He rode out there from the early 70s through 2011. I'm Spanaway-Graham raised, rode out there from 87-94 and again from 05-early 2011. Blew out my lumbar spine in 02 or I'd have been riding out there from late 01... Feel free to bounce any ride ideas off either of us.
Quite a few WA/OR Savage riders, both sides of the "rock pile"... er, "Crack Head" mountain range...
