MM. Seems like there should be plenty of ways to stiffen the bike up a bit. You have been very creative in figuring out the pulley changes on the Savage....and I betcha you are correct in thinking that springs from a heavier or taller Harley could be found.
It might also be possible that your bags, windshield and larger tank have dropped the bike too much from the extra weight. You could add some pre-load to the forks by making a spacer to fit on top of the springs.....the limiting factor on those is the "push" required to get the nut back into the top of the forks without hurting somebody!

The primary reason I was looking at GS forks was so I could use air pressure to adjust the spring rate.
Maybe there's a mod for pressurizing the forks?

Back in my dirt bike days.....we just drilled a hole in the fork caps and installed Schrader valves. You could then just add some air to get a stiffer ride. I really don't remember anybody blowing out fork seals by doing this.

There's been a couple of reports on our bikes of blowing seals after popping wheelies.

The easiest thing to try sounds like the "Pre-Load" spacers ..
I'll put in on the Jack-stand Motorcycle lifter thing and we'll find out !
