I just added this to the Tech Section... it's partly just for fun...
... but it does seem fairly accurate based on my bike and top speed, which I know makes about 34hp... and has 94mph top speed...
(or it did once anyway.. Grin

)...

It takes about 40hp to get a bike up to 100mph... (if you can tuck in really good)...

( I'm 5-8" 145lbs)... my bike is 340 and has narrow drag bars...
Input your own combined bike/body weight,... also add some drag and frontal area if you are big or have a big winshield...input 1.0 for drag... and 8 or 9 sqft for frontal area ...

I used the same .80 drag, I'm smaller so put 6.5 sq ft, 445 lbs bike and rider, know I can hit 67 mph GPS per my Smartphone -- says I should have 11.7 bhp. Which is what Piaggio claims my scoot has.

Sounds good for me.

I did a quick measure up of my Enfield and tried it. It claimed the hp to do 90mph ( it's top whack) need 28.8 hp. The spec from the factory its 29.9. It also tells me ill need 50hp to hit 110. That's not gonna happen

According to the Wallace Racing HP guesstimator...

Dave's bike, with a top speed of 101mph,... is making about 41 hp...
..(using the same weight and drag numbers I used for myself)...(Dave's a little bigger than me, but his bike is bit lighter)...
That sounds like a ballpark accurate figure, considering his mods...

Possibly our top HP Savage on the site...

I have never seen Lancer's....REX run - but MMRanch has ridden both our bikes and feels that Lancer's bike is faster. It should be a bit faster - as he has a hotter cam and a larger piston.
