How many miles do people usually get from the OEM front brake pads and how many miles are expected from the replacement pads that have been mentioned such as the EBC organic pads?

On mine (see signature), I got 3500 miles on the OEM pads, 4100 miles on the Ferodo Platinum pads, and currently have over 4400 miles on the EBC organics.  Gonna have to change 'em soon, though....

I ordered these http://www.ebay.com/itm/EBC-Kevlar-Organic-Front-Brake-Pads-1986-1988-Suzuki-...

and installed them on November, 2012. I have 5357 miles on them and I think they are wearing out, handle is in, getting some noise when I brake hard, I tried to look, but can't see too much.  Huh Is there a good way to check the thickness of the pads without having to take the rotor off? The one I can see doesn't look too bad, but I always worry about the one I can't see.

I don't think I am a hot rodder, I think I am an old, fat preacher (OK, pretty sure I am an an old fat preacher), does this seem about right for the pads to last? Just curious.

I saw your other post. For street use, stick with organic. Brake pads need to be warm to work and the semi-sintered are meant for heavy bikes and/or track use. Brake pads are sacrificial, if they are wearing they are working.
