Hello David,

The Lucas Style Tail Light came from Amazon and it was only like $11.00.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00230GLD0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie...

The tail light uses about the same bulb as the stock bulb #1157, but since it does not have the elaborate reflector system as the factory light it wasn't quite bright enough. I bought a SuperBrite LED Bulb.

https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/tail-brake-turn/1157-led-bulb-dual-f...

The light is now very bright.

If you are going to mount it the same as I did you will need to make a bracket for it. The threaded posts on the Lucas Light are just slightly wider apart then the width of the license plate bracket. I used 1/8" x 1 1/2" aluminum from the hardware store, I think Home Depot. The bracket is simple enough, you need something to fasten the Lucas Light to and then fasten the bracket to the existing license plate bracket.
I drilled and tapped the Suzuki License Plate Bracket with an 8/32 tap and used Low Allen Head bolts to fasten it. You will need to make a ground wire for the new taillight as it only has 2 wires and the license plate bracket is rubber mounted to the fender.

I wish I would have taken some pictures.

Somewhere on The Forum a guy posted a really neat cross that he fabricated to cover the holes in the fender from the original factory tail light. I am thinking it may have been the guy with The Purple Passion bike.

Factory seat with a "furry" pad. (More comfortable than the Corbin with, or without, the same pad.)

Just thought I would let you guys check out my recent piece of (handy) work. Just installed a bikini style fairing to my '99. If anyone likes it I can give details of how I did it.

This is my '95 Savage. I haven't had it very long. It needs some love.

Kenny, I LOVE that tail light setup. I've been looking for an option to move the tail light down there. Another guy on here, I think it was 'philthymike', did a great good job with a light that fitted under the fender and bolted straight on, but I reckon it's a bit hidden under the fender. I like a cool look, but I want people to see my stop light!

I'm gonna order the light and bulb and fit them when I get a chance.

BTW, I also saw the cool cross, you mentioned, that someone made to cover the holes where the old light mounts. I'm gonna think up a different shape and do the same thing. Smiley

I've been on this site for a couple of months now, since I got my 2014 S40, and done some of the recommended mods. The thing is, I'm getting (have got) 'the bug'. The images of the bikes in this thread are just amazing (still kicking myself because I didn't buy an '80s savage I saw for sale here in Aus a few weeks ago, as a project bike (The guy's dad owned it since new and it was still running!)) ... anyhoo ... thought I might as well post a couple of pics of me and my ride, that my daughter took last time I visited her.

Here's the bike:

Thanks Chris ☺, I do a bit of amateur photography so I'm usually on the other side of the camera. I taught my daughter to shoot when she was young, so when I visit her she always suggests I take the opportunity to be the subject in a photo or two for a change. It's one of the rewards of parenthood ☺
