Im a typical American boy that grew up with baseball and American football. But its a shame more Americans dont follow the world cup. The BIGGEST and most important sporting event in the world, i mean it makes the super bowl look like such a minuscule event! The best thing about it is the purity of it. Its almost the same game it was 100 years ago even with all our technological advances. And the best part of the world cup is that its all for pride. For one month its all for your Flag and not your wallet. Im NOT knocking anyone who doesnt like soccer, not at all, i barely got into it during the 2006 Cup. But how many chances do you get like this to root for your country on such a grand scale! thats what hooked me in! HELLUVA game to keep England at 1 goal though!!

I also hate how golf is refered to as a sport and golfers are called atheletes! I mean REALLY???? ATHELETES!!?!?!?!?  Grin

yes calling a golfer an athlete is a stretch, not to long ago you could see pros smoking while playing, and John Daly used drink beer all day.
Guys like Tiger woods though are athletes ,do you think you could have 14 misstresses and play five rounds of golf per week.?
I love both games Soccer and golf. because I have played both.

Curling- yeah..there is a curling parlor two towns up from me, will be checking it out.
You know, I seriously wonder if the Bruins didn't get a call creating the greatest choke on earth.
At 64, almost anything that includes dragging a body from point a to point b seems like a sport.  Or riding from a to b. Grin

Sorry Mick, happened accross a wonderful bottle of Baccardi - a tonic for what ails me.
I was wondering if the Bruins - Flyers series was fixed, or was the collapse (choke) simply the result of loosing one of the Bruins better young players.

Happy father's day to all who are, will be or helped create the next generation.

USA 2-2 Slovenia. darn ref stole a win fro
us. I hate when the outcome of a game is decided by the refs/umpires and not by the players on the field. It's time for replays in all sports

your right, the USA was robbed, I have no idea why they don't watch instant replays.Same with that pitcher last week who was denied a no hitter because the ump didn' see it, that pitcher could go the rest of his career without pitching another one.

At least that umpire had the Decency to publicly and sincerly apologize about the mistake he made. That ref and FIFA may forever leave us in the dark about why the goal didn't count. Seems like that ref had out for the U.S. The whole game. Made horrible calls against us till the very end. But he did give some harsh yellow cards to Slovenia as well

Look here!  Grin  priceless

http://www.blameitonthevoices.com/2010/06/awkward-camera-moment.html

Well, (just in case anyone gives a rats) the
semi finals are here and Germany seems to
be the strong favorite, just 4 teams are left.

Germany vs. Spain
&
Holland vs. Uruguay

...so far I've been having fun watching the games
in drunken public venues where it gets just crazy,
these germans are really serious about this whole
mindless advertising-pushing, bread beer and circus
scam, can't blame them I guess, it's in their blood, I'll
try and shoot some video for you guys next game of
their reaction after a score, lol, L8r.
