I vote for leaving the seat bottom open, more interesting to see the skeleton of it.  I love the soft tail swingarm mod, you are a very talented builder/fabricator.

Hey, rear brake rotor on front pulley! You stole that idea from that spanish dude, admit it!  Wink

Man, this is one mean thingy...

Honestly I wanted to do it before i saw that bike.  Mine will be much more involved than his, along with the rest of the bike.  Im recessing my stator cover and the rotor will be inward so the stator cover is the widest part.

Phiu! Cool idea. I kinda like the looks of exposed rotor, but... Have you considered stock brake rotors / calipers they put on front and rear on 50cc scooters all over europe? They are smaller than the one on your picture.

I really like the size of the one ive got. Its off of my 80cc honda racebike.

too small and you loose braking force, leverage, and have less surface area and material to dissipate heat.

hope its not too small and i dont warp it with too much heat. I do tend to trail brake alot with the rear.

oh ya and im probably gonna use a big 4 pot caliper with it, if it will fit.

been doing a little math. im gonna run a 17t  45t sprocket combo to give me a 2.647 final drive ratio. taller than the stock 2.956 ratio.

also designing my rotor adaptor. its gonna be trick as hell.  lots of stator cover modification necessary.

heat wrap? Or coat of paint after soldering. I've done that on fiat Panda's distributor pickup, and that thing moves constantly. Still runs.

working with some tight clearances.  Gonna take about 1/4" out of the radius of the rotor.

caliper will mount to the side cover.

Most people who convert to chain drive go with taller gearing too.

That's going to be one fancy piece that seals your magneto cover back up!

Sorry no helpful suggestions are coming to mind, I can only cheerlead.  Cheesy

Thanks for the info on the instruments, I guess I'll have to try with the Land Rover cluster

Oil pressure and oil temperature + fuel level if you can fin a suitable plunger/float.

Talk about the rear breake, I like the idea BUT if you brake too hard the drive belt will jump all over the place and you'll be without a rear brake (could be without a usable drive belt, too...)

I think Trucknduc will be using sprockets (17t  45t sprocket combo) so drive slippage shouldn't be a problem.  The only disadvantage I can imagine is that when the force on the chain changes direction, the braking will hit more suddenly as the lash is taken up, which will break the tire loose more easily.

Speaking of breaking the back tire loose, I'd LMAO to see someone "backing in" a Savage.
