Full-face helmet (though I occasionally cheat in my small country neighborhood). I have a full-face helmet with a big chunk of the front missing, and one side filed down into the fiberglass.

jeans
Miss Sally, jeans will give you no protection in the event of a slide on the pavement. You need leather chaps, Draggin Jeans with kevlar, or some real motorcycle pants. Armor in your lower extremities is a good thing too.
I always wear a full face Arai. I wear a thick leather jacket, leather gloves, and usually Draggin Jeans and leather boots. Road rash is no fun.

[quote author=Steve530 link=board=RubberSideDown;num=1146593075;start=0#12 date=05/02/06 at 15:34:42]Helmet. It's required here. Actually, I've never riden without a helmet and wouldn't feel right without one.
As Steve says, its compulsory here in the UK and I don't think i'd feel right without one.
I usually use a full face Vemar. Good lid if you wear glasses!! 8)
I have just bought an open face lid with a visor, but haven't had a decent day to get out and ride with it!
I think i'll use it for short trips and very sunny days.

With rare exception - helmet here - full face of late but also use a 3/4 on bikes with a big enough a wide screen to hide behind - impacts from flying debris either rocks or kingkong bugs are daily

Helmet?
Yes, Full Faced not that I like my chin that much, it's just that I don't want a chunk of my upper leg (in the rear) replacing it. That and I don't like bugs etc. in the face.

Helmet - always.
Leather jacker, boots, & gloves, but usually jeans. Chaps will come when I can afford them.

It may not be God's intended time for you to go; but, you can make it happen, anyway. Just ask Indian Larry.

no helmet law in az. full face on road trips and during the winter. no helmet on poker runs and around town riding, i dont like the enclosure, it costs me too much visibilty and hearing. shorty helmets being painted to match the harley, likely worn around town and poker runs when we get them back. full face always worn on a dirt bike. eye protection always!

I'm glad this isn't even a choice in Canada. If there were - of course it'd still be helmet. To those who say when it's your time it's your time - I agree. Problem being what if it's not your time and just end up with some serious brain damage that sees your wife and kids wiping drool from your mouth for the next x number of years. Still plenty fun to ride with, keeps me warm on the cold mornings (most mornings here in Calgary are not much above 10 C., keeps the bugs out, etc etc
