I've seen plenty of suggestions as to improving power.  Any suggestions on squeezing more miles out of a gallon?

Nothing scientific here but I've noticed the obvious... best case seems to be freeway riding at 55-65 MPH.  This appears to be the "sweet-spot" for fuel economy for my bike's particular tuning.  Going slower or faster as a rule reduces mileage.  Stop 'n go and in-city riding are also less efficient.  Trying to stay in the best cruising gear for your speed will help too, though I may sometimes drop down one gear when I see a potentially tight sitiuation coming up so that I'll get better response if needed.

this may sound stupid but,one time when comeing home from along ride,i ran out of gas ,so i switched to reserve, and iwas about 20 miles from a gas station, and i figured about 11 miles of gas left in reserve,
so i deceided i would accelerate to 50mph then coast for a mile,i would climb a hill then coast for as far as i could.
i couldnt beleive it that i made it to the gas staion.20 miles in reserve!!

Peak torque (max efficiency) in top gear is 55mph so go 55.

Of course, that's probably dependent upon whether you have the 4 or 5 gear version and definitely on what size rear tire you're using.
