Towed home chassis donor #2, and today I got rid of chassis donor #1.  Two Dakotas in my shop are one too many.  The relationship with the red '04 didn't work out, so I went out and got a side chick (blue/green '94).  Deconstruction to begin later this winter.  Tracker needs to be running before I start the truck project.

I was just going back through this thread and saw

Well, a 1300 mile round trip and $650 in diesel fuel and I got it home.

Dude, that is Fitty Cents a Mile. Sheesh.
You probably don't cruise the drag in that much.

True, but this Studebaker was a total emotional buy.  Cost wasn't much of a factor, as it is a trip down memory lane.  I have always been into two wheels as they were more affordable.  Never got into V8 vehicles or hot rods.  Now I get to build the hot rod I always wanted my first vehicle to be.  I just assembled this today, since I am going to be doing two body swaps in the near future.  Meet the new edition to my shop - Mr. Crane.  Gantry Crane.  I'll have mine lifted, not dropped....

That was not any kinda criticism about the old Studebaker. Just a recognition of the costs of stuff today. I'm happy about you getting it. I hope you hang onto everything you don't use. Someone might need those things.

Even though this is an newer Studebaker truck than my '52 ('58 Scotsman model), it is a good example of the stance I am shooting for.  Mine will have bigger meats under it, especially in the rear.

I’m thinking a full race road chassis with that cab & bed. Maybe a coyote motor , auto , a/c of course , same stance just a tad lower , something for a daily driver , coast to coast without thinking about.

So this is what's left of that green Dodge Dakota.  All loaded up and ready for the blast shop.

No shortage of work in the Busted Knuckle Garage!  I see two out of three vehicles without an engine.  That is a problem.  At least there is a finished long block hanging from the engine hoist!  I got it at IKEA - some assembly required...

Sneeze, your shop is obviously too small for all your projects.  You need to build a warehouse !
