Fork braces
11/15/16 at 17:38:13

After waiting months for a Superbrace (backordered), I gave up and order a TKAT. It was shipped in no time.
Good news is that the TKAT exists, is well made, and cheaper than the Superbrace.
Bad news, it looks a bit 'industrial'.
Decided to give it a little love.
This is the before pic:

A little metal removed with files, 1" and 1/2" hand belt sander, stationary belt sander, sand paper of various grits, green scrubbies, and more time than I'll admit to  Roll Eyes

Armen,
I am happy with my tkat as well.  I did the same cleaning with mine, but not quite as aggressive. My bike being black and silver, I wanted it to all look nice and shiny. I mainly used degreaser,a  scrubby pad and some never-dull polish.

I also figured out a way to keep my fork protectors intact.  explanation at the tail end of this post/thread: http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1471017987 See pic. This is an older pic so it is not as nice and shiny as it originally was.  Wink

It looks like you both did quite a bit of work making it pretty.

Nice work. They look much better than as delivered. Smiley
