Sooo.. hello.
Thought we'd post a few small updates.
Progress has been slow, as we all know life gets in the way.. and other projects aswell  Grin. But.. we are still building the Savage!  Here are a few pics. Will post more coming days!

And making sure it still lines up with what we have in mind regarding the tail section. As stated, the fibreglass is not what will be used but it is good to have as a guide.

Finished welding the last part of the exhaust.
It was important to me to get the radius of the bend of the exhaust equal to the frame plates/rear suspension supports.  Which in itself is again the same radius as the rear tire.  Very happy at how this turned out.   Grin

Next is starting with the first part of the Silencer and the connector to the rest of the exhaust. Shout out to the friend/fabricator whom is building all of it at the moment as per my design.








Looking good together with the charger if I say so myself...  Cool Grin




Now to get started on the rest of the Silencer.  The amount of space is limited in combination with the desing of the rear section we have in mind.
If it is simply too loud in the end, we can always add a db killer.
If it is still too loud, lengthening the silencer is also an option which is not that hard to do with the design of the silencer. We will see!  Wink

Now for the last steps of the exhaust.
Putting everything together and getting it mounted.  
This means this is pretty much finished. The travel of the rear shocks has been measured offcourse and all should we well.

From here, the next challenges on the list are:
Machine down the pressure valve and welding this into the plenum
Finish the design and start the fabrication of the tensioner for the pulleys. The goal is still to have one tensioner for both but it is a challenge.. Huh Shocked

After this, fabrication of brackets and supports for:
The Exhaust
The Supercharger,
The Carb
The Tensioner
Together with all of the above the strengtening of the frame will be combined.

I love all the unique detail on this build.  The cool exhaust system snaking all over the place.  Truly a one off.  Any particular reason you chose the CV carb.  I suspect it might be harder to dial in.  Do you know if there are any special considerations to expect with the CV as compared to a variable Venturi or an old school fixed Venturi when used with the super charger?

IMO, the super charger mounting is going to present a problem.  The internal clearance is super tight and it won’t tolerate distortion.  Supporting all that weight without distorting the housing might be tricky.  If you incorporated a flexible mount at the cylinder head you might simplify the problem.  The cylinder will also be growing due to thermal expansion.  You will need a way to compensate.  What is your plan for supporting the super charger?

Very nice job so far.  Very trick.  I love it.
