I had a GS500.

My nephew had it.  Well , he abused it in every way he could and then left it sitting in the front yard for two years with all the plastic tore off and wires hanging out everywhere.   Thats when I found it and bought it for $300.oo.

I re-modified it into a standard looking bike and sold it for a thousand bucks.

I did ride it around for a while.   They have good power that winds up seemingly forever.    At the time I didn't know that modern chain are OK.   I also don't like the idea of twin carbs so I might have kept it IF I could have fixed a single carb to it ... but ... the down-tube was in the way.

The next  project was a W650 Kawasaki , I rode it 6000 miles and never did have to adjust the "X-Ring" chain.   It had the same twin carb problem like the GS500 so ... I made a few hundred bucks on it and it went to a guy in Texas.

So many bikes and so little time to ride them ...
