Ok 5 out of 7 of my bikes have fenders and the tracker has a optional front fender ( fat chance in hell it will ever be mounted ). Absolutely the most fun I have ever had on a motorcycle was a day riding in a nasty rain & hail storm on my fenderless street tracker. I guess I still think I'm 19 cause I sure don't ride like I'm 59 ! That day I ruined a leather jacket , a pair of gloves , and my left boot ( not wearing a hot shoe ) and took me several days to get the bike clean again. Fenders would have done little in that situation.

Yes true. Dealerships would have a tough time selling new bikes that don't run.

That's a small taste of the fashionable destruction of bikes seen in my regional area lately.

The people who hack up bikes and then realize they were over their heads and give up are best decribed by the movie, Idiocracy.

Narrator: As the 21st century began, human evolution was at a turning point. Natural selection, the process by which the strongest, the smartest, the fastest, reproduced in greater numbers than the rest, a process which had once favored the noblest traits of man, now began to favor different traits. Most science fiction of the day predicted a future that was more civilized and more intelligent. But as time went on, things seemed to be heading in the opposite direction. A dumbing down. How did this happen? Evolution does not necessarily reward intelligence. With no natural predators to thin the herd, it began to simply reward those who reproduced the most, and left the intelligent to become an endangered species.

The people who hack up bikes and give up and then expect people to give them real money for the resulting pile of scrap metal are just plain delusional.

I am sick too of all the hack saw jobs. I just put in Café  in Craigslist and see the carnage.
Let's see
no rear fender (getting rocks coating your back)
No ft fender (loose the fork bracing, worse handling)
No air cleaners (shortened engine life)
no gauges (not sure how fast going--- ticket, Red line? )
no muffler (loud pipes don't save lives but instead they annoy wives of senators that pass laws against motorcycles)
The rear frame loop gone.
The seat is a covered 2X4 board.
And to top it off, the bad fad of header wrap. (Hey if our exhaust valves are not hot enough already.)
