The guy who shot Gabby was just a nut. You nuts on the left tried to pin it on an typical poster by Sarah Palin which by today's standards is a cartoon! You're chasing politicians out of restaurants, confronting them at their homes....
yelling "This is for healthcare...."
I"m going to need a source for that.
and your ascribing motivations to dead people so we'll never really know his motivation, as much as you'd like to think you do.
Both shooters lives were falling apart and they lashed out in an insane violent way. you're using it to justify your own confirmation bias against the left.
as for Giffords shooter: " there was a "disjointed theme that runs through Loughner's writings", which was a "distrust for and dislike of the government."" and "expressed a longstanding dislike for Gabrielle Giffords. Tierney recalled that Loughner had often said that women should not hold positions of power." sounds pretty conservative and libertarian to me.... even if he was crazy, so to say that he had NO political motivations, well, that's not accurate is it?
listen, I grew up in the 90s, when jock frat boy bullies made fun of anyone different and beat up homosexuals for fun, when "anti-government" types blew up Oklahoma City, the violence I've seen with my own eyes, has been conservative traditionalists putting their ideology over caring for people, and during the last 8 years on conservative radio where they ratcheted up the extremist rhetoric for ratings again and again...
sure the left might be getting a bit more hyperbolic, but they are just matching the rhetoric of the right when Obama was in office. meanwhile, conservatives have over 300 years of violence that I can pick from, from sicking dogs and firehoses on nonviolent protestors during the Civil Rights movement, to the cops shooting various unarmed minorities, to the lynchings in the Jim Crow era, and back throughout slavery and Native American issues, and so forth, and then you'll go over seas and start pointing to Stalin, Mao, and Hitler, etc.... so we can do this all day, every day, all year, all decade long if you want.
or you can accept that there is violent tendencies by some on both sides and all of that can and should be called out and removed from politics, whether it's anitifa or the Proud Boys and we can move on, but your insistence on claiming that the left is so much more violent than the right is not helping us get along any better, but it seems you'd rather win than actually discuss the issues in a civil way
so you can let it go and we can all assume that everyone here denounces violence from our respective sides and we can give each other the benefit of the doubt that neither of us want violence towards the other side or you can go on pretending that I hate you and want to do violence just because I'm slightly liberal...
