You were at the right place considering you made everything except the motor, wheels, and headlight.

Ya, I wasn't sure I would be accepted and my invite came long after the first invites went out.  I was happy to get accepted.  And what a great event.  Of the shows I've gone to over the last year this one was the best.  They take some nice pics don't they?

I was the only Savage based build there  Wink

Bike looked great like always.  Good for you to be invited. Some crazy stuff at that show.  I'd like to go sometime if I'm ever out there.

There is one in my neck of the woods that is pretty cool..Cleveland Fuel.  I went a couple of years ago and will try to get there this summer.  The show is cool, the show outside of the show is pretty cool too.

One of my favorites from the show.  Yamaha XS 650 built in a similar style as yours.  Pretty sure the builder was a local guy from Akron.

Edit: Yeah Akron, OH guy, pipefitter by day, bike builder at heart:  https://www.facebook.com/austinmartinoriginals13/

That's a cool bike.  Had I gone to Chicago (the nation wide final show for the IMS tour) I would have been in his class where he got second for Freestyle.  I would have also been divorced.  I had the Mpls IMS show one weekend, the 1moto in Portland OR the next weekend and the Chicago show would have been the next weekend.  So we'll never know...  The bike that got first was really nice too.  And that guy that built it was in Portland too, I was right next to him.

Maybe it's a Savage thing but I like your bike way more than that Yamaha.

Hi!  Have a few updates to the bike.  The leather sling seat looked cool but it really wasn't too comfy.  So I built a seat with a metal pan and more traditional seat cover.  And since building the bike I discovered how nice stainless looks all polished up so I did a new set a bars with a little more of board tracker look.

The odd photos of nut welded to end of stainless tube show how I pack the tube with sand for bending.  After filling with blasting media the threaded rod is driven in while tapping the body of tube.  The sand helps keep the tube round while bending.

I see the usual cast of characters are all still here   Wink  Thanks for everyone's comments.  This forum gave me a lot of motivation and support to take the project to completion. I've had a ton of fun riding it the last couple of years.

Some new pics in nice light and a nice setting is next on the list.  These are just from inside cramped the garage.
