MM is our resident expert, but I can fillet and skin and brine what we catch until he arrives.   I am bringing an electric knife and I think You Tube has shown me the slick quick way to do a big catfish electric style.   It takes 15 seconds a side for an expert to do it, so it will take me several minutes at least.

Smiley     ..... and yes I washed the blades after trimming my last car tire ......

Brine is a weak brine, a teaspoon of salt for a big glass bowl of fillets, overnight soak, trim all dark stripes and TRIM ALL CATFISH FAT off of the fillets.

Dark blood stripes and any fat at all are BAD, so we cut it all away .....

You don't need to bring your electric knife OF.....we have an electric knife here....it was last used on a Turkey.

It appears the weather is going to be good.  All of this week is going to be wet - but next week is dry and the temperature is going to cool down nicely.....low 80;s for the high.

I haven't even looked at possible routes .    If I put a GPS address into the Garmin and have a backup paper direction then I should be good.

Dave , how long did it take you to drive from your house to mine ?

Fuel Stops every 150 miles w/5min.-walk-a-bouts should add an hour to the trip.

About them Cat-Fish --- I like to cut the "MUD-STRIPE" out before cooking them.   I like Captain D's fish taste ,  I've had some catfish at restaurants that was plain nasty tasting .     Tongue

I need to cook for our Wednesday night group before I leave Thursday morning (have to keep the peace in the family).  Roll Eyes

Last weekend (Friday-Sunday) I went to North-West Tn. to our State Rally , two weeks earlier our CMA group ran the Water,First-Aid,and Prayer station at a local Hog Fest (Friday-Sunday),  then a couple weeks before that was our N.C. ride ....  Fun stuff but I'm about at the end of my leash   Grin

Leach , I didn't know I had one till the wife tugged it a time or two !  Shocked

So , I invite her to go on all the adventures possible .   She is really excited about me having the CMA group over for Bike-Nite in Sept. Roll Eyes  but she'll be OK with it by time it gets here (I hope) ...

Between the Savage crew and the CMAUSA group ... most summer months have more than one event .  Wink

MM.  Mapquest says it is right at 6 hours-from your place to mine, and that time is proven to be a "non-stop" time.....and that route puts you on the Interstate Highways as often as possible.   Even in my car I can't keep up that kind of a schedule on trips that require fuel and eating stops.  It will most likely take you 7 hours at a minimum with stops....and I believe that is about what it took me when I drove my car/trailer.

Route 22 east out of Louisville would add about 2 hours to the time you are riding (probably 3.5- 4 hours from Louisville) - but those extra hours would be on really nice back roads through lots of hills/curves and small towns.  Not sure if you are up for another 3-4 hours of riding after having been on the road for 4 hours to get to Louisville.....with your bike all loaded up.  I might be able to come out and meet you in Louisville if you want to ride in on 22.....not sure if Verslagen or Lancer are up for it.....Oldfeller will likely stay home and fish!

If you want to just cruise on in as fast as possible....stay on the interstate and we can figure out what to do once you arrive.

Bring your favorite form of hearing protection ......  or else-wise you may get stuck with rubber earplugs of dubious vintage.

Go get it now and pack it in your bag.

I am bringing two sets of ear muffs, but my daughter took half my stock of muffs along with other  necessary stuff.

Thanks for checking on all that route stuff Dave !  Smiley

If its 7 hrs in your car , then it will be 8 hrs after a few walk-a-round stops.

I might be ready for a relaxing evening after an eight hour ride .... not to sound wimpy or anything like that .  Roll Eyes

I have found that 65+70 mph is a lot easier on me and the Sportster's mpg than 75-80 mph is.   Tongue

Dave can you PM your address so I can check possible routes ?    I know its in North Kentucky but Google don't know where North Kentucky is !  Grin

Do I need to bring :   Cot to sleep on ?
Tarp on legs for bike Garage ?
                              Any swinging targets , air gun , 22, 9mm-45colt ?
                              Lawn chair ?
                              Tent of any kind ?

MM....no need to bring a cot, or tent...just pack your personal stuff.  I also have plenty of garage space for the bikes, and plenty of trees and tarps to make shelter.

Nobody needs to pack chairs, or cots or mattresses unless you have something your really like.  I have 2 cots, a couple of different foam mattresses, and I have tents and my little trailer is also available.

Shooting wise, I have plenty of foam earplugs, and about 3 sets of muffs.  Bring whatever you want to shoot.  My neighbor has metal targets we can use, and I have paper targets.  We can put a picnic table out in the field, and a 10' x 10' canopy overhead to keep the sun that will be plentiful everyday!

I have 2 fishing poles - 1 is my grandads open reel vintage piece - but it works.  The other is a entry level Zebco thing.  If we need more we can borrow some from my neighbors....as I let them fish over here all the time.

I will PM everyone my address, and the coordinates to my place.

This week is rain, rain and more rain....next week is looking good!

My wife would like to have an idea what folks want to do for breakfast.  How many coffee drinkers?  Cereal, yougurt, pancakes, bagels....or do you folks want to get out on the road and ride somewhere for breakfast?

Yes, REX is coming to the party but I'm not quite sure how he is going to act.  Right now he will start ... and ... hmmm.  So I need to work on his people skills.   Grin

Yup, I do the same with beast, 'cept it takes a few cups of coffee and a cattle prod to get to that level of enthusiasm that early in the morning.
