Hey you guys, I've been jacked  Shocked

I would love to hear any opposition to the original thread intent.
We have been pounded with PC speach, being the reason of hate and other toxic stuff happens is because of the enflunce of ugly talk on radio, etc....
Why does the same enflunce of one not extend to the other?

The North ,with the wealthy industrialists and their proximity to Washington, were maneuvering legislation that was hurting the South. They wanted to be able to get the raw materials from the South cheap and make fortunes on it.

That is my understanding as well.  The civil war had very little to do with slavery.  It was about commerce and power.  A new country was born with vast resources to be exploited.  Enormous wealth was going to be generated with commerce between the states and commerce with Europe as well.  States rights just got in the way of fortunes that were to be made.

Best regards,
