... but, I think he understands that I only point this out as a character flaw in Nugent in particular, as it is a hypocrisy to his personal gung-ho, macho, persona,...and not to condemn all who disagreed with the war on moral, ethical, political rationales, rather than cowardess...
I was against that war... my father did tour there in 1969-70... and I would have been drafted, and served, had the draft not been discontinued just months before I graduated... but, by then the war had ended...
As it was,.. I grew up military, and attended 10 different schools in 8 cities and 3 different countries in my 12 years of pre-college schooling... (I'd had enough of losing friends and being shifted around,... so I really just wanted to settle into one place... a further military life did not appeal)... but, I would not have made a cowards choice, if had come to that...
Nugent, didn't serve, because he was a coward...
