ok when?
You don't want middle of winter, or summer. While I ride year round, there are times when it is more comfortable. Right now is pretty prime riding weather. Got the jeans on, but not the leathers. Windbreaker under the mesh in the morning, comes off at lunch.
Early spring is about the same.
Best bet is to look at long term weather in the past to judge when you might want to come to this area. I would use Fredericksburg as the test spot, as it is usually cooler in the Hill Country than in San Antonio.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

Yeah, I thoroughly enjoy Cooper's. My company likes to do training flights out to Llano, shut down for a few hours, and have a nice dinner. That's how I found Fredericksburg I'll have to check out Lairds.
Yeah, the roads closer to Killeen aren't as exciting, but I have to get to the good stuff some how.

I guess that means I'm no good anymore; I've got 4 more cylinders! '08 Yamaha FJR1300 and still '01 Savage

I'd have to go an additional 200 miles as opposed to western Carolina. It would be worth it though, I would have to go by JOG's town.

Killeen is north of there?

Well.. not what I was intending. Just looking for day rides!!
It would be really great to have a bunch of you come down and visit. I would enjoy meeting you after all this time!
It would be my pleasure to show you some roads that most people don't even know are there.
Got some fine eateries for your gastronomic enjoyment and places to enjoy large selections of barley pop.
Let me know if I can do anything to help you with the plans if ya'll decide to "make it so".

Hi, im pretty new to forum and currently tearing down my savage for plug fix and ryca conversion but if ya'll ever decide a fredericksburg meet and im up and running i'de like to meet up. That area is very nice. ive only been there once and enjoyed my visit. It's about 270 miles for me and would be my first long ride with the donor $700 savage.

Maybe a days ride for you, Mr. MM, but not for this body.
I would be doing good to do 250-300/day.

Wow , Lancer
I don't get to be a " Mr. MM," very often ?
But 500 miles a day would be Interstate stuff for me.
By time March get here I'm pretty sure I'll be looking for a "Three day Cruse" and South is the right direction to head that time of year ! South Texas is in the 900 mile range for me . That makes at least two days for me . So I might be able to make it happen with an over night stop about four or five hundred miles out , and company for the last half of the ride would be nice too !

I spent some military time in El Paso and we had plenty of wind in March , Sanantonio might be the same ?
So many places to ride to and so little time !
