Whats bugging me,, hmm,, coupla things.. The justification
Suddenly, after 5 years of "captivity?" his life is in danger.. REally? Why? What changed? Is it related to the station chiefs recent "accidental" outing?
The , well,, ya cant REALLY call it negotiation,,because We didnt negotiate,, we caved,, in every demand, theyve wanted those same 5 guys, for ever since we have had them,,
What WE got for those 5 guys.
Someone who laid his gear down & walked off the base,,not captured in a battle, someone who, for all we know, JOINED them in their battles against our troops. Im not endorsing our even being there, so, Im sure not endorsing our mission & the killing, but at best, he deserted, at worst, he took up arms against his own troops.
Now, how much of the language did he know before he took that walk? If zero, then Im gonna say he wasnt trained & sent in to infiltrate. Another coupla things about the potential for infiltrating. It would seem to be a pretty slim odds kinda operation,, I mean,, why would he believe they wouldnt just torture & kill him? If he would turn against his own, why would they ever trust him? AND, since we ALL KNow the Taliban is already effectively defeated ( coff, coff) is there any real NEED to risk someone being killed to let them take a shot at being taken captive & trying to infiltrate?
& Whats the deal with Dad? REally? HE speaks Pashtun or whtever language that is? & I just heard dear old dad is following those bad guys on Twitter! He retweeted something he got ( I heard it on the radio, Ive no idea what a tweet is or a retweet,, is that like regifting on Christmas?) about how they attacked a base & "Killed as many as 25 cowardly American soldiers".. Now, once his boy is free & safe, is there some reason to be following the guys who had been holding him? &, excuse me,, but I have a real hard time picturing the Taliban out in wherever with cell phones & towers,, What kinda war doesnt destroy the infrastructure?? OHH, wait! Maybe the same kinda "war" that creates an environment that allows an opium crop to go from the smallest ever under the Taliban rule to the largest ever once we ( You know, Murca, land of the whirlds Greatest Army, with equipment & herbicides & a VERY determined "war on drugs") got in there. OUR soldiers guard those poppy fields.. read that again, dont fail to grasp the full strength of what that means,,
