Got a sight gauge now! You see, this WAS a 2.1 gal shell, but it looked to big on this bike so I cut 1.25 inches off the bottom. Now it's, well...less than 2.1 gal.  This was a must.

Just type steam punk motorcycle in google or yahoo search bar and look at the photo's, some are totally wild, while others are kinda mild..

I LOVE the steam punk stuff! If it didn't look so expensive to do I'd be totally there!

Someone asked how we are going to mount the tank, so here it is.   Drill holes, weld bungs, make brackets, weld on brackets...done.

So I must have miss placed about 50% of the nuts bolts and washers involved in this project....oy vay!
I was hoping to finish the assembly yesterday but I spent 4 hours looking for nuts, put the wheels on And mounted the engine.

That engine paint looks good. What paint did you use?

I used Harley Davidson high temp gloss black.  And what HD calls "Silver Bead Blast"

How many cans? Did you just pressure wash the engine and then spray it?

I used maybe 1/2 a can I black and less than 1/2 of the silver bead blast.  I didn't pressure wash but instead used carb cleaner and sandpaper.  Lastly, some elbow grease.
