I was at wal mart yesterday and they had plenty of ammo of every kind except 22lr. Seems no one can keep the 22 ammo in stock. They get it in and it goes out almost as fast. I was able to get some 22lr but you have to time it right. I called Kittery Trading Post yesterday and asked if they had any 22 ammo and the guy said "I think so, let me check" then he came back on the line and said "I just put out 4 cases and its all gone except 1 box of Winchester (box of 333 rounds)so I grabbed that one. Also I've been able to find some online but the price is pretty high. 9mm ammo is plentiful here.
Oh, by the way, I woke up to see snow on the ground this morning.

The only ammo in good supply is air rifle and surplus millitary type.   Even powder and primers are getting hard to find .

Must be part of the Goverment Plan !  Huh

No Joke !   Lips Sealed

Can't revolt with-out ammo !  Undecided

Does kinda makes me wonder ?   Roll Eyes

All I can find locally is shotgun shells (bird shot) and #10 percussion caps (revolver takes #11 caps)...

I'm guessing they are skeert that we'll pull another 1860s on 'em...  Grin

Let's see, I brought my boxes of ammo up and put them on the desk next to the keyboard.

Since the front part of the trip is going to be shorter by a day I need to bring less stuff accordingly.   Time to trim the boxes down some.  It is easier to move the little boxes of ammo around rather than haul stuff out of the safe after all.

I don't own a .38 Special or a .357 Magnum any more, got rid of them last Christmas.   Gave away all the ammo for it as well.  Can't help Old-Rider and wife out for their shooting pleasure.

MM has a portable shooting bench but I sorta doubt my oversize carcass is going to fit inside it, so I will have to plan to only shoot off of impromptu stands and rests.  My days of prone position ground shooting are over, my body ain't up to it any more.

So, two rifles, both suitable for off hand casual use.

See, it gets simpler the closer we get.

Dave, you'll be shooting your spud gun?   Isn't that a little awkward?

Wink

When carrying your spud gun concealed, do you leave your zipper open for a faster draw?

What's the potato for?

.... bring P322 to keep his hands occupied

The ladies have never complained about my spud gun's performance, range, or ability to reload quickly! Grin

Well, there is the bit about which flammable liquid you use for the "expulsion" of the potato.
We used to use lighter fluid and soda or soup cans when I was younger, as we got older and pvc pipe became available on the market, we experimented with more volatile liquids...lets just say, beer and explosive liquids are NOT a good idea... we still don't know where the last potato went...it could be in orbit Shocked

He jams the potato on to his spud, jerks it off with a twisting motion then he squeezes hard on his handle .... and internal pressure makes potato spurt out and go splat.

Roll Eyes

.... yup, that's how she works.

What Bank ?

Bring the spud gun , (Where can I get one) ?

Bought a new target thingiee.    22LR.   4 spinners on bottom lock in up postion when hit , 1 spinner on top to unlock the bottoms.  They spin too hard and doin't stay locked in the up position if hit with a rifle , haven't tried the pistol on them yet.   Air rifle swings them but not all the way to "lock" position , got it a  Dunham's (Red one $29.95)

add weight for the rifle
probably ok for pistol
remove weight for air rifle

MM....That bank one threw me for a loop too.  I found out what was going on this morning. http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1397768874

I had a friend at work buy the Spud Gun for me.....she knew I was looking for one and came across it in a novelty store in Nasheville, Indiana.  They really are a bunch of fun for kids.....and adults that act like kids.  Kinda like the affordable kids version of the adult "Paint Ball" guns.

Sorry, I'm an omni-threading type person.  I dropped it there to see if Old-rider was even reading the trip thread any more.

Trips as they get smaller require much less planning as the folks coming can make up their own fun when they get there.

We have had small trips where we re-rolled the whole thing once the gang actually really got there.

And they were some of the very best trips ....

We are down to 2 months and counting down.
