The spacer is in correctly, it looks just like the first pic you posted, so I guess it's right? It just seems so far out.. maybe I just never noticed it before.. thanks for the help

If they line up right, then its in right. YOuve got the arm on the drum housing that has to line up with the brace in the swingarm,, that set of tab & slot says it all,
