I'd be interested in a set, but first can someone point me to a good guide on how to do this on a savage/S40? I've never re-jetted a carb so this should be quite the learning experience.

The previous owner put a freer flowing exhaust on, and it's a little laggy/lurchy in the low RPM 10-20mph zone. It sounds like a jetting problem to me, do you agree?

Hi, Lancer.
I was wondering if you had a jet set put together or would have one soon.   I wasn't sure if I should just Paypal you a fistfull of money and then wait by my mailbox or talk to you first.   Also, with shipping to MN, the cost is just $24.95 total?
Thanks in advance!

Lancer I was curious if you sold single jets instead of sets? I only need a 152.5 and 52.5 because my stock jets are from the 88 savage.

Hi Lancer,

I need jets size slightly different from your jet sets and a float bowl gasket.

pilot #50 52.5
main #157.5 160

Can you PM me and let me know what you have and the price with shipping.  I live in California.  I am unable to PM you due to my lack of posts. Thanks.

If you let me know right away, I can order the 157.5 main jet with my next order; should have it in about 10 days.
Gaskets ? ? ? will just have to wait and see if they are available yet; stuff is getting hard to get.  Yea, it's crazy.

I do want to order the 157.5 main jet.  I already send the payment for the other 3 jets.  Since the wait is only 10 days, I can wait for you to send them all in one package.  Just let me know what is the additional cost and I will send the second payment.

Okie dokie, will do

Have the 157.5 main jet arrive yet?

Was ordering parts Thursday and checked on this; the 157.5 main jets are still on back order and expected to come in from Japan the first week of July.  Yea.  Crazy.

Howdy Z:  If possible, you want to do away with that straight pipe.  It is just real loud and hurts performance and makes tuning difficult.
An older HD dyna is a good cheap replacement, or you can buy new mufflers for more $$$$; just be sure to get a good one so you are not wasting your money.  The least expensive quality built mufflers I've found are from Cone Engineering.

http://www.coneeng.com/pdf/motorcycle/MC%20finsihed%20Mufflers%20PDF.pdf

In order to have a good smooth running engine that does not backfire you need to have a good muffler and an air-tight exhaust system.  Any air leaks at all with cause back firing and frustrate the heck out of you as you try to tune the carb, which will just not act right at all as long as there is an air leak in the system.  Fortunately, with just one cylinder to deal with we only have to ensure that the head-to-header, and header-to-muffler connections are air tight ... assuming that there are no other holes somewhere else that may be due to "rust-through" etc.

Of course, you also need to have a good air intake filtering system.
The stock air filter is good, but if you want to go with a pod type then be sure it is a good filter, is kept clean and sealed well to keep out crud.

So; good muffler, good air-tight exhaust system, jet/tune carb to match intake & exhaust system.
If you are in need of jets let me know.  Currently I have them.

Yes, I can do that.  The 2 jets + shp + $12 for US addresses.
Do you have washers for the needle ?  No extra cost for those.

Yep, basically all the same.  The 80's models (some, if not all) had a needle with 3 notches in it so the clip could be adjusted rice/lean, but other than that consider them the same.
The 80's models do have the white spacer like all the other models.

When it comes to the LS650, with exception to some electrical items that Suzuki changed over the years, or the 4 to 5 speed change in the tranny, or the starter gear change they made, you can ignore any of the model year restrictions that may be listed by after market manufacturers.  It just does not matter.

Sorry, I don't have any new 145 jets for the sets.
There may be a used one somewhere but have not ran across one yet.
