I have a modular. Its exacty like the one I used to smash a ent in the cab corner o a little pickup.. If I hadnt had that face protection, I would have been torn UP..

After much research and soul searching i will be getting a new helmet. Thankyou all for you feedback. It will be a full face but not the $450 Shoei I fell in love with. It will be DOT and snell approved tho.
Have a great day all.

I like the modular, I can talk to people w/o taking it off And I can open it to let some fresh air in, get rid of fog on the shield, etc. I open it up at red lights, Its easy to open t with gloved hands.  Only cost about 125,,

check out the scorpion 500!   or scorpion 900 if you want flexibility in your helmet, the 500 rocks as a solid full face, the 900 converts from full face to 3/4ths helmet, the 500 is $200 the 900 is $280 or so, I have a scorpion 1000 which is the same as the 500 only a bit older so the tech was new and it cost more Sad    the inside flip down sun visor rules!

Mine is the HJC modular.
It as well has the built
in sun visor. It does come
in handy. Yes even here,
when the sun does come
out.. It was $200. 00 though.
Yet very comfortable and keeps
the noise out quite well.  Smiley

THATS the name,, I forgot who made mine.. HJC, torture tested.. the front caved in far enough to split my upper lip, good for a 2 stitch repair job. Imagine without that protection? The strap crushed into my throat so hard I was still aware of discomfort  about 3 weeks later. At least I wasnt using a feeding tube,,

Ok i bought a FF HJC CL-16 (pink of Course) it took me almost an hour to try on different helmets and get the feel for them. I was tough for me as i am right etween the large and medium. The Scorpions were nice but it was either too tight or too big. I am very happy with my choice and am waiting for the threat of rain to stop and i will be out trying out the helmet and giving the girl some throttle.

helmet shopping can be time consuming, that's a nice lid, the CL-16!  my next choice is the G-Max modular or the shark evoline if I can find it for cheap, but I don't need another helmet, got 3 and only one head.

Glad to hear you went full face. I ride with a full face but scooting around town I use a half helmet. I realize, I can suffer an accident scooting around town, but such is life. Smiley
