the point is that there are violence prone people and I would rather granny have a 22 pistol in her hand rather than have to knife fight a thug breaking into her house.

I wonder if the UK thugs are polite when they knife you, since they are more civilized than Americans.......

UK thugs usually knife other thugs, no need to knife little old laidy's who are not a threat, when I left England most real bad guys carried short swords on their left or right hips,the favorite among street gangs is a cut throat razor ,nasty in a fight .

fair enough, so, so how many of US gun crimes are thug on thug?
I am sure the number is significant.

And I don't give a hoot about how many bad guys kill each other. Saves the state a lot of money.

but it cost all of us who pay insurance to cover their health care while they are getting stitched up in the emergency room, of course I'm assuming that thugs dont' have healthcare. . . is there a thug health insurance?

Uh, Jerry I think you were getting a little nasty there with your rhetoric so I thought I would add that last sentence for fun.

A gun is a tool and proper training is the key. I have several guns and respect them. I do not believe guns belong in schools, churches, bars, K-marts, or shopping malls.
