Yes KC, and NJ is in the same boat. They raised our MC Registration from under $20 per year, to a whopping $65 annually.

We now have a Concealed Carry bill up for the first time in Heaven knows how long with another whopper of an annual fee; $500.00 per year to exercise our right to carry, which is a "right" right now only that is only reserved for LEO, retired LEO, anyone carrying large amounts of cash, politicians and their friends. They know how many legal handgun owners there are here in NJ, and @ $500 a pop every year it'll be another cash cow, and, once they get it, they'll raise it to $700 (NJ has a habit of raising fees by more than 30% at a time).

I remember the promise made by the city of New York to make the Vereazano-Narrows Brideg "Free" after construction of the bridge was paid for.

200,000 cars cross that bridge every day, and pay an $11 (no soup and salad included with that) toll to do so. That's over 2 Million dollars a day. Bridge coast $220,000,000 to build. Paid for itself hundreds of times. Tolls became a cash cow to fund everything from new sports stadiums to the Subway.
