Clayton -- St. Louis area

Yeah, a get together seems warranted!

Not available July 17-18, July 31-Aug 8, or Aug 14-15

Very available July 24-25

Also, July 24, the Gateway Riders are having a Saturday evening ride:

Saturday evening ride to the Dar-E-Kreme, a neat old diner off Hwy. 30 and BB for food, malts, and ice cream.

Meet 6:30, leave 7:00 PM from the BP/McStop on Long Road & Chesterfield Airport Road.

Or maybe a meet around one of the lakes for a day ride. Ha Ha Tonka, Warsaw, somewhere central for most/all riders.

Farthest extremes here appear to be Springfield to St. Louis. Nearest !/2 way lake (favoring Springfield a bit) would be around Osage Beach. Discounting lakes, the halfway point down Hwy 44 would be Rolla, Mo.(apx 100 miles both directions) Plenty of nice rides around Hwy 8, 19 and 185 south between Rolla and Sullivan in that direction. Just throwing possibilities out there! I work retail so I don't get many weekends off. I'm available 7/25, 8/14 & 8/15 or 8/22. Don't let my schedule stop anyone else, thats why I ride alone so much - times don't match up often. On the other hand, I get the road to myself many weekdays!
Osage beach is on the outskirts of my travel so I'm not that familiar with the area, but I could find out. I can be of SOME help around the Cuba to Potosi to Rolla ride as its a popular triangle for poker runs. drharveys might have some ideas from his BMW trips also?
Any other MoRiders want to chime in and try this?

You like hills n curves theres some good ones around LOZ.(Ha Ha Tonka side anyway).
Lot of nice lil spots S/SE of cuba and rolla.
Elephant Rocks, Johnson Shutins(have'nt been down there since the D@m failure) clearwater lake, wappapello lake, all kinds of springs.
Person grab a MDC map of all the MDC areas, parks, springs, mills ect they could stay busy all summer and still not see them all...lol

Southpaw, im kinda flexible on my rideing time as im Mr Mom. 24 hours notice and im about good for a ride. Been rideing alone myself though ive taken the girl on a few short rides. But mostly i Lone Wolf it...lol
Just got back to rideing myself about 2 months ago after a hiatus of about 27 years.(promise to stay off bikes to dad till the kids were grown/older...lol) Put about 2500 miles on in the last 2 months and still havent got to ride enough to suit myself...lol

Let's see, there's Missouri Hicks Barbeque in Cuba, always worth a trip, and not hard to find nice roads to get there on.

There's lots of great places for an all-day ride, closer in to town there's some great roads around Highway 94 through the wine country between Hermann, Washington and St. Charles County.

Here's 94 dropping back down from the bluffs:

Ha Ha Tonka is always worth a trip:

although getting to and from the lake is a really long ride on a thumper, especially if you try to avoid the slab.

I live in Columbia.  I would be up for a ride but my days off are random and usually not on weekends (retail).

Anyone going to the National Bikers Rally at the Columbia fairgrounds August 3-8th maybe I'll see you there!!!

So that's what was going on when we drove through there a couple of days ago!  Lots of electric "Motorcycle Awareness" signs along I-70!
