I'm in awe of your fab skills, envious of your resources, and appreciate your sense of style. That's one VERY cool bike.

But it reminds me of an old joke. A guy claimed to have the ax George Washington used to cut down the fabled cherry tree.

"Really?" asked a friend.

"Yes," he replied. "Well, I mean, the blade has been replaced five times and the handle fifteen, because they wore out, but it's still Washington's ax."

I know it's really gratifying to transform an ordinary thing into something completely different and awesome (particularly when it waves a big middle finger at sanity), but was there a point where you thought you might get better results fitting the LS650 engine into a different rolling chassis? Not that I think you should have.

Im currently building a new swingarm for it, with linkage. Im also going to cut the neck off of it and steepen up the rake.

Im having some electrical issues. I had a friend build a new, very simple, wiring harness. It totally eliminates the decompression relay and solenoid. With a full charge the bike cranks and rides fine. Im getting 12.89 volts at idle and any rpm, it doesnt vary at all. Once i ride the bike say more than 10 miles, the battery does not have enough power to re crank. This problem existed the last few times before the new harness.

I have already replaced the stator once about 6 months ago. Ill do the resistance check again but I hope its the regulator rectifier instead. Its a unit off of a gsxr 750 I think.

Anyone have any clues? advice?

Stator is new, harness is new, guess connections could not have rotten out that quick. Change the reg/rec seems to be the only thing left to do.
