Do you also ride?  Or are you like Mrs._Paladin and stuck in a cage?  Always interested in someone with unbiased opinions on Savage vs. Other.

Hello Forum buddies. I have been lurking around here for a while and really enjoy the banter and the advice. I thought it time to introduce myself. I do not own a Savage/LS650/S40 but I have always admired them since they were first introduced way back whenever. I currently ride a Suzuki GZ250 but a Savage may be my next move up. I look forward to participating here and hopefully contributing from time to time.

Just popped in so why not say HI 8)

I own a 86 savagewhuich is completely in parts now. All paint will be changed, the frame desperately needs it!! Also plan to add new stear, lights, mirrors and footpegs First thing I changed was the exhaust.... a half open pipe by Laser.... as you can see on the pic...

So this is how it looked, the frame will be copper metallic the rest will be a bronze metallic / copper metallic combination. The seats will be re-covered

hey guys(and gals)
my name is greg i live in texarkana texas.
i have an 86 savage that i bought for $600 running.
i have rode the heck out of it since i purchased it
in may.now that the colder weather is coming in.
i will be yanking the whole thing apart and building
a swedish style bobber.
first on the plans is a chain conversion
2 inch streth in the tail section
3 inches in the down tube
2 inch stretch in the back bone
6 inch over fork tubes

custom risers --home made whiskey type bars
and a mustang 2.2 gallon tank
sprung seat and b---ch pad.sissy bar
bullet casing foot pegs and a custom one off exhaust

i will be posting pics of the build as they develop
i just ordered the sprockets and chain for the conversion
and have stripped the bike.
so i hope to get a few suggestions and comments on the build as it develops.

now if i could just find another starter without going through the dealership.then i would be set
Wink

Good to have you here JB, and it's great that you decided to jump on ride even if it is a bit of a late start.  I am 58 and have been riding since I was 15 ... it is a wonderful thing.

Owner of an '89 Savage since Saturday. Seemingly standard - except, I assume, brown leather seating. 13,000 miles on it - might even be accurate! Couple of minor (I hope) jobs needed - though rode it 40 miles from seller's no problem (other than clutch, sorted today with a new cable).
Fourth bike since re-started 12 mths ago.
