Greeting savages, testing out the new windshield today so took a few photos for this thread.

Funnily enough I used to have a 650LS but it was a bmw! Now we have a Suzuki 650LS, I have a GS500 but the gf found it a bit like riding an elephant. Found this sweet little S40 with only 860kms on the clock and it was 10 months old, so basically as good as new but for only $6000 AUD, they are $8,600 here so I'm pretty chuffed with that, it's great to have two specialist forums for both our suzi's gstwin, and this place!

We live up in Queensland, Australia and you can see the local Glasshouse Mountains, in the background, so here's some whoring shots of the S-40, I cheekily wheeled it up the wheelchair access so I could get a nice shot. Enjoy...

Wow, nice scenery, and I don't even see any Mad Max types lurking in the background!

Hi Bill,
I know you posted this a while ago, but if you're still on here... I see that you spoke about some speedo noise and I have the same issue. Did you ever figure out how to resolve it?
Thanks,
David

Greetings all,

I've been lurking the site for about 4 years when I was actively planning a straight RYCA project; a project I never got around to (work, family, additional schooling, etc).

Rode full time (R65 and R100GS/PD) through college and professional school but sold bikes when I graduated and have been jonesing for another for the last 16 years.  Was resinspired to start the project when my car had to be in the shop and I borrowed an associate's CBR600RR.

Now I've got a 2002 Savage on the lift, a handful of RYCA parts, a Benelli tank, some general plans and (most importantly) a ton of information I've gotten from this site.

I used to do simple maintenance on old bikes, but am a complete newb when it comes to doing something like this. Wish me luck.

Hello everyone. I'm new here and new to riding. Bought a blue 2007 LS650 5 months ago with 25,000 miles on it for $2300. I've put about 1000 miles on her since then. I've been riding her more this week since replacing the stock petcock with the Raptor 660 seems to have solved my stalling problem. *knock on wood* You guys have won yourself a new member with your solid advice!

I'm 29-year-old woman and live in Los Angeles, California. I got into riding with my husband. He expressed a strong interest and I didn't want to be his passenger all of the time, so I took the MSF course with him and ended up wanting my own bike. He's on a vintage Honda cafe racer. I look forward to learning more about the art of motorcycle maintenance here.

Welcome blackat! I've always thought being a passenger a mundane existence. Welcome, ride and watch all four directions @once!
There's a good bunch of riders here with a lot of knowledge

Hello everyone.

I picked up a 95 savage 13k on the clock. It hasn't run in 2-3 years. It was my buddies bike. He need quick cash I needed a project  Grin. My plan was to just flip it and make some cash, After seeing some of the builds on the site. I going to turn it into a rat build. So far I got it to fire up and started some maintance on it. Took a look at the cam chain adjuster and im at 17.68mm. So tempting to just put it back together and save some cash. But Ill do the right thing and replace it Roll Eyes
Well thats all so far. Just wanted to say Hi.

I hope you're not going to replace the adjuster... it's the chain that stretches.

What's up SavageNation. I'm SavageRiderTN. I live just west of Nashville, TN and ride a 2002 Savage. It has Z bars, no front fender, led turn signals, and straight through muffler. I just ordered a 6Sigma carburetor kit and I'm seriously considering doing a bobber conversion over the winter. Absolutely love riding this thing. I especially love it when someone asks me why I'm riding a 250 and I tell them it's a 650. Their eyes get wide. I take some ribbing but love the fact that it is different.
