Hello all,

Name is Veronica and from deep South Alabama near the panhandle.  Got my S40 when I was stationed back in California.  My first motorcycle, and loving it so far.  Got two years so far of riding on the S40, and finally starting to change things out on it.  Darn little thing has traveled around a good bit.  Orginial from a showroom in Washington state, then bought it off the guy in Nevada, drove around in Califronia, and now driving it around in Alabama and Florida.

Love this site so far, a good amount of info on here.

Hello everyone... Rick here. Bought a 1987 Savage a couple months ago, for two reasons really. I used to ride, 20 years ago, gave it up when I went off to college. Then got a job, wife, kids, and haven't been back. Now... I'm nearing 40 laps around the sun and decided I want to get back on two wheels. Talking it over with the wife, and she wants to learn to ride.  Grin

So, started looking around for a good bike for the two of us and a co-worker of mine suggested his old Savage. My wife loves it, so we're good to go. Bike needs a little TLC because it's sat for a few years, inside a garage at least. At least Savages are about as complicated as a hammer... and easy to work on.

So, been a lurker here for a while, spent a good deal of time reading the tech section, and now I'm finally posting.

I can tell you EXACTLY what it feels like to get hit by a truck. I do not recommend anyone try it themselves.

Hello everyone!!. My name is Victor. I'm from Toledo, Spain.

I do not write well in English, but I will try to understand me best.

This forum is VERY INTERESTING. It has been a great help to me.

I was able to fully repair the engine of my bike through information and photos on the forum.

Thank you very much.  Cool Cool

Hello Everyone!

I'm Dave and currently live in the Columbus Ohio area. I just picked up a 2001 LS650 and this site has been a great resource. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and share in the fun!

The bike is for my girlfriend, but I will get to do most of the wrenching. It's a great machine. I'll get some pictures up as soon as she gets in on Christmas morning.

Thanks!

Careful Dave! you might get to like it so much that you get yourself one! LOL... I did.... then ended up selling my monster Road Glide... and keeping the savage ! Smiley (was a health issue, but I enjoy the smaller bike).

Could be! I have a bad habit of collecting bikes!
I currently have a 78 Kaw KZ750, an 80 and 81 Yam XS 650 in the garage. Those are the ones I'm rebuilding currently.

I gotta make room! Cheesy

I went looking for a first bike for my youngest son and the specs for the S40 seemed right.  Light weight and enough power for the road.  After sitting on a S40 at the dealership I decided I will get one after Chistmas.

I was an Ironworker since '72 and fully retired this summer.  I have owned a lot of bikes and currently own a little XT250 I bought new this time last year.

This is a great site with lots of maintenance info.

Hello

My names Will, I recently bought a 2001 Savage, I'm in the process of converting it into a bobber, will start a thread once I order some more parts. Already pulled the side cover off found out my tensioner needs to be fixed.
