1st motor vehicle was a Honda Mini trail Z50. I cut grass all summer ' 68 or was it 69? Wanted the SL100.
You could license one when you turned 14 if it was under 5 BHP.
One kid swapped the motor from his older brothers 4-speed Honda 90 into his Minitrail. It was a good ride back in Junior High!
The kid around the corner had an Sears (Italian)- 175 thumper, later rode it from Bloomington Ill. to Memphis.  
The woods were full of sub-200 cc Hondas, Hodakas, Yamahas, and the occasional Rupp Roadster.

I was out riding today and I stopped for gas. A very old man using a walker approached me and said: "What is she son?" I told him it's a Suzuki single cylinder 650cc S40 boulevard AKA Savage cruiser. He whistled in appreciation and said; "She's a beauty!" then ambled off.
Isn't that neat? I smiled all the way home.
