Exactly like that.

that's sweet!

If you don't mind, could you post where you bought that and how to go about installing it.

I know a tach isn't necessary, per se, but I'd really like to have one.

That's where my a$$istance (the filter doesn't like the first 3 letters of that word) really comes to an end...

I bought mine from another biker in another forum, so I'm not sure.  It has no "brand name" on it, but it works great and is easy to connect.

There are others in here that have one though...they all seem to look the same too.

Try our good friends at JirehCycles.com.  P/n 57-133 for $45.  Mine's backordered at the moment, so I can't say more about it.  I'll stick it on & post photos when I can.

you asked for it, so here it is.  don't bother, a big single has no need for a tach.

if it's an appearence mod then kewl.
as a performance mod it's pretty much worthless.

here are the shift points as explained by dave f on another forum

1st - Shift up when the bike stops accelerating.
2nd - shift up when the mirrors begin to buzz.
3rd - shift up when bugs stop bouncing off your face and begin to splatter.
4th - shift up when your mouth suddenly fills with air and begins to function as a air scoop.
5th - shift up when you forget there is no sixth gear.

thats about all you need to know of shift points.

This is the same Baron's tach but dropped into a case I found on ebay - I for one do not want an engine that I think much of with out a tach.

I looked over and do not see a name - it does seem to be a high grade part - this is who/where I got it

I bought one like Greg's pic shows, but rather than mounting it on the bar clamp, I centered it in the handlebar.

I removed the handlebar, drilled and tapped a 5/16x18tpi bolt hole on the underside of the bar so it would not show, and red-locktited a bolt in there holding the tach.

After the locktite set up, I tried to move the tach.  I flexed the mount pretty bad, but the bolt held.

It never came loose - but I've sold the bike so no pic.

I found I only used the tach after that, the speedo was too low.

I can take a pic of my low speedo - sharing too much, sorry.

Hi,
Anyone try adding a tach to a S40?  The new style risers do not seem friendly for a this mod.
